The values we bring to SSIC Innovations were established during our careers as military officers. They include an unwavering dedication to each mission we undertake, attention to detail, and service before self. These values comprise the core of our business and research philosophy.

 Dr. Walker S.C. Poston is a rated service-disabled military veteran. He served as an officer in the United States Air Force from 1989 until 1995 when he separated due to a significant spinal/back injury. He then joined the Individual Ready Reserve until he was honorably discharged in 2006. Dr. Poston has several significant decorations including the Air Force Commendation Medal with one Oakleaf cluster.

Dr. Christopher K. Haddock served as an active-duty military officer and an active member of the US Air Force Reserves. His last assignment was with the 442nd Fighter Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. While on active duty, he completed Squadron Officers School (Air University, Maxwell AFB, AL) and the Aircraft Mishap Investigation and Prevention Course (USAF School of Aerospace Medicine, Brooks AFB, TX) and received several decorations including a National Defense Service Medal and an Air Force Commendation Medal for his contributions to military health research.

We met while serving in a residency program at the Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, where we trained other military providers and scientists. During our time in the US Air Force, we served in the Biomedical Sciences Corps and were both appointed into the Regular Air Force ahead of schedule.

As military veterans, we have focused much of our careers on improving the health, safety, and well-being of military personnel, veterans, and other uniformed personnel such as firefighters and law enforcement officers.
